Shaping the Future with AI: Foresight, Community, and Trust

Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant promise; it is the defining technology reshaping how we work, connect, and innovate. In our business of incubating new ventures for LG, we’ve identified key themes in need of further community discussion, as we explore the next phases of AI-led innovation.

The Future of Work in the Age of AI

AI and automation are transforming the very nature of work. The World Economic Forum projects that 44% of core job skills will change by 2027, and McKinsey estimates that nearly a third of knowledge work tasks can already be automated today.

As we start to see how AI is changing the workforce, we should ask the question of how we adapt at the speed of AI? How can we leverage AI to move our workforce from this phase to the next, through reskilling at scale, redesigning business processes around human + AI collaboration, and ensuring equitable access to opportunities? Can we chart a path toward a future of work that is both competitive and inclusive?

Defensibility: Community as the New Moat

In an age where AI features can be copied overnight, what truly sets companies apart? Increasingly, it’s not just the product, it’s the community around it. Today’s most enduring AI companies, from Hugging Face to MidJourney, are thriving by mobilizing users into contributors, builders, and evangelists. These community networks have a positive effect on power defensibility.

Turning users into active contributors and co-creators is not easy, however, and designing a community-first product needs to be planned from day one, along with balancing growth, authenticity, and long-term trust.

Agentic AI Best Practices

The AI frontier is shifting from copilots that assist tasks to agents that act autonomously, planning and executing workflows across industries. Early adopters report 30-40% productivity gains, but recent research tells a more complicated story. A new MIT study found that 95% of enterprise AI pilots are failing, pointing to cultural, governance, and integration challenges as major barriers.

Enterprises are only at the start of this migration to AI. Establishing best practices for enterprises and startups deploying agentic AI at scale will be crucial to overcoming challenges related to governance, oversight, and accountability. To achieve success and ROI from AI deployments, enterprises should turn to lessons from real-world pilots and explore how startups are pioneering multi-agent systems and enterprise-ready frameworks to capture AI’s full promise.
