HUNTINGTON, W.Va., Sept. 1, 2026 – LG NOVA and Aurion Capital announced that Synthesis Health, an emerging leader in artificial intelligence-enabled radiology workflow and medical imaging technology, will establish operations within Marshall University’s IDEA District, as a part of LG NOVA and Aurion Capital’s strategic initiative to bring new technology innovation and businesses to West Virginia. The expansion in Huntington represents an important milestone in a broader public-private effort to position West Virginia as a nationally recognized center for healthcare innovation, digital health and technology-driven economic growth.
The project reflects the strong working relationship among LG NOVA, Aurion Capital, IRC Holdings, West Virginia and Marshall University. Together, they are helping build an environment where entrepreneurs, researchers, clinicians, students and investors can collaborate, commercialize new ideas and create high-value jobs in West Virginia.
“West Virginia is building an economy where innovative companies can thrive, create high-quality jobs and improve lives,” said Governor Patrick Morrisey. “Synthesis Health’s decision to establish operations in Huntington demonstrates the strength of our workforce, the momentum of our technology sector, and our administration’s commitment to building a strong economy across the Mountain State that produces good paying jobs.
LG NOVA’s mission is to accelerate innovation by connecting promising companies with the strategic relationships, resources and market opportunities needed to grow. Through its collaboration with West Virginia, LG NOVA is applying that mission to help emerging technology companies establish operations, develop talent and scale solutions from within the state. Aurion Capital facilitates this effort by providing innovative businesses with the connections, capital, and strategic support required for long-term growth.
“West Virginia has demonstrated that it is ready to partner with innovators and move promising technologies toward commercial success,” said former West Virginia Secretary of Economic Development, Mitch Carmichael, now a senior advisor to LG NOVA, the North American innovation center for global innovator LG Electronics Inc.
“By bringing together LG NOVA’s global innovation platform, Aurion Capital’s strategic support, IRC Holdings network, Marshall University’s academic strength and Governor Morrisey’s commitment to economic development, we are creating an ecosystem where companies such as Synthesis Health can grow, create opportunity and improve lives,” said Ali Dalio, CEO of Aurion Capital.
Synthesis Health’s cloud-native imaging platform helps hospitals, imaging centers and radiology groups improve clinical workflow through advanced reporting, enterprise imaging, artificial intelligence integration and data management technologies. Its decision to locate within the Marshall IDEA District aligns with the goal of making Huntington a destination for healthcare technology investment, development and commercialization.
The Marshall IDEA District provides a platform for collaboration among technology companies, Marshall University, healthcare organizations and regional partners. Synthesis Health’s presence will contribute to a growing cluster of capabilities that can include radiology AI, clinical informatics, healthcare cybersecurity, predictive analytics, workflow automation and digital infrastructure services.
The initiative also supports West Virginia’s long-term economic development priorities by encouraging technology investment, retaining and attracting skilled talent, and expanding opportunities for students and professionals in high-growth industries. It demonstrates how coordinated partnerships among government, higher education, industry and investment organizations can translate innovation into jobs and lasting economic impact.
